We had limited races this week but the ones we did were a testament to the teamwork of this club!

Wednesday night saw the second of the Summer Leage series races, with a 4.6 mile race from Walesby Forest. A massive 40 Harriers turned out for a brilliant race, with new members, new racers and seasoned runners all making up a cracking squad. Our men's team only went and won, and now sit second overall in the open category series, and our women finished 4th team and sit 6th. Within that some special mentions. Our first male and female home, Ben Rhodes and Madi Spencer are in the mix for individual medals (Ben is 3rd senior, Madi 4th v35 overall) and our fab older vets are smashing it with Cath Mhembre 4th (v55-59), John Harrison (v65-74) 2nd and Sharon James (v65-74) 3rd overall in their age groups, proving age is no barrier to running success!

On Sunday the Gerald Story charity run took place, ran in memory every year of a former Harrier who sadly passed away, as ever raising money for Cancer Research. A big Harrier team ran, and well done to everyone single person who did. Importantly, a huge Harrier team organised the event, marshalled, directed, baked cakes to sell and did the full set up and tidy up. It is no easy feat to organised such an event, and so thank you to everyone involved, but particularly the organising team ; the Cherry's, Thorneloe's, Manley's, Nick Mould, Helen Widdowson and Clare Ross. It raises a huge amount for charity, and is a very special event, and they did a cracking job!

Finally, on Monday night and making it because I am late writing the letter this week, was Trunce. Several Harriers took part in the senior race; Sally and David Bulmer, Matan Duveen, Stuart McCluskie, Adam Turner and Neil Allsop, whilst the junior dream team of Holly Bulmer and Oakely Allsop did the junior race.

And finally, a special shout out this week, continuing the theme of fundraising for cancer charities. After hearing about people affected by cancer, entirely off his own back, Oakley, aged only 11, looked for and signed up for a race to raise money to support those affected and will completed a children's tough mudder style event on 20th June. We know it can be hard to find spare cash at the moment but if anyone could spare any pennies or a pound, and would like to donate you can do so here Oakley's Race for Life
