This week saw the 3rd installment of the Notts Summer League series, with a big Harrier contingent making the trip to Woolaton Hall. The journey paid off, with a 2nd team place for the men, who are now in 1st place overall. The ladies made an equally impressive effort and are now 5th overall in the league against some much bigger clubs. We continue to have some fantastic individual performances too, with John Harrison 2nd overall in the V65 men, Sharon James 3rd overall for V65 women and Madi Spencer 3rd V35 overall. The next race is our home match, so everyone will be determined to put on a fine show, whether racing or organising!

Saturday saw a number of younger Harriers represent Nottinghamshire Schools at the Mason's Trophy in Stoke. In the Junior Girls, Holly Bulmer ran a great 1500m, and Eliza de Villiers matched her high jump PB. Isaac Beresford, for Junior boys, PB's at 800m and did an excellent high jump. For the Inter-Girls squad, Darcey Croshaw and Summer Johnson took silver and bronze at high jump, with Amelia Read running a fab 200m.

What the seniors lacked in racing this week, they made up for in social events! Thursday saw the Thursday Club Run followed by a quiz night, with the lack of general knowledge amongst the club on fine display. Saturday saw a Harriers parkrun trip to Waverley Lakes, followed by the ever important post parkrun breakfast. and Sunday saw the return of a club favourite, the Steady Soles sunday run, an opportunity for a run for those wanting a steady chatty pace and laughs, and as per Harrier tradition with any social, a cafe trip afterwards.

Finally, a very special well done and thank you. A few weeks ago we mentioned Oakley Allsop, who at only 11 had decided to enter a touhg mudder style race to raise money for Cancer Research, all off his own back. This weekend, he did it, and has raised, at last count, nearly £800!!!!! What an achievement all round. Oakley and his mum and dad want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored Oakley, motivating him all the way round the course. Mum, dad, and the whole club are very proud of you!
