Another great mix of events across the club as we start mid-week with another edition of the KMR series at the Maltby Abbey Dash. A new course finally bringing back views of the Abbey on a down and back up course of 5 miles. A hot and humid race backed up by some red hot performances as Euan Carroll led from the start to take 1st place with Ryan Brown making it a Harriers 1-2 from the pair. Aaron Buckland, Chris Lawrence and Neil Allsop completed the 5 men whilst Sharon James was our sole lady out on the course!

On to a busy weekend of track and field as we head down to Bedford at the UK U20 Heptathlon Championships and a big performance from Alicia Wells saw her bag multiple PB’s across the day (1.61m HJ and 15.38s 100mH) helping her to finish an impressive 4th overall, with a superb end to the seven events as took the win in the 800m with both a PB of 2:26 and pushing a new PB score for the Heptathlon of 4447 points!

With our juniors heading down to Newark for the 4th and final mini-league of the season, it was a packed day of run jumps and throws, excellent performances and a few PBs for our athletes, and after a season of strong performances we await the results to see who will be heading to the inter-counties final in September! The end of the mini-league season also means the inevitable end of season goodbyes from mini-league for some, as our older athletes move up through the age groups and this year it was the turn of Summer Johnson and Emelia Jonczyk after many years and memories in the league!

Finishing up this weeks report and we’re local but off-road at the Sherwood Pines 6 Hour Challenge. 6 Hours to complete as many (full!) laps of the roughly 4 mile/6km loop with runners able to bow-out whenever they fancy. Four Harriers headed down to Pines as Matan Duveen completed four laps before our remaining three continued their RH100 training and pushing on to the end with Henry Brady one of 8 to complete 10 laps whilst Matt Daly and Nick Moore squeezed in one more within the time limit and just 2 of the 4 runners completing 11 laps. With the scores level it came down to time to separate the runners and two fine performances saw Matt take 3rd place with Nick Moore proved fastest on the day to take the win covering 68 km in 5:32:51
