Worksop Harriers & AC is a diverse club with a wide range of capabilities. We aim to accommodate as many different abilities as practicable. Our runners typically run three or more times per week and can run parkrun/5k in 35 minutes or faster. However, this is not a hard-and-fast rule so if you are unsure, please get in touch with a brief history of your running and a member of our coaching team will be happy to answer any questions.
Runner's are welcome to come down and try our sessions any time with no obligation to join. Please contact us for latest whereabouts each week but the first Thursday of the month we have a dedicated new-comers night, always from Manton Sports Club at 6:15 pm
For adults looking to get started or no history in running, a great place to start is the couch to 5k program. We recommend the NHS app as it is available on all the popular app stores and has got many runners started on their running journey!

We also encourage people to visit their local parkrun. parkrun is a free weekly 5k at 9 a.m and a great place to start walk/running in a safe environment where all first timers will be supported and encouraged by the fantastic team of volunteers. Our nearest event is Clumber parkrun but you can find more information at:
Tuesday evenings is structured interval training with varied training sessions from speed work to faster endurance intervals. The sessions are suitable for a very wide range of abilities and are scaled to fit individual runners needs.
Around the time the clocks go forward for lighter nights,we can be found on the track at Worksop College and when the nights draw in we do a mix hill training sessions and road based intervals through to Spring.
The best way to find out our latest whereabouts is by contacting us via our Facebook or Instagram pages or email us at [email protected]
On Thursdays we meet at various locations around Worksop for a run of approximately 50-60 minutes, split in to various pace groups from around 7 to 11 minute mile. In the winter we generally stick to the road (visible and appropriate clothing is a must!) and in the summer, weather permitting we venture off the roads, taking in the trails around Worksop, including Clumber, Scofton, the Canal and Carlton-in-Lindrick.
In all the groups, the run leader(s) will aim to move the group at the set pace. People are welcome to push faster than the leader and regroup or for those moving up from a slower group will be supported by the run leader to ensure the group is roughly together. Individuals are free to select a group based on their own abilities and desired speed but should join a group that they can run for the duration and approximately the prescribed pace, without stopping. This allows the run leader to manage the groups and keep all their runners safe and on the right course. If you are unsure which group to start in, our friendly Run Leader Team will be happy to help and answer any questions.
