Another warm week hasn't stopped our members from enjoying lots of different events this week, from everything from shot put to 100km ultras!
Saturday saw Sally and David Bulmer take on a scenic and very warm 6 mile trail race at the Caistor Sting Challenge, around the Lincilnshire Wolds, with a very welcome ice cream for finishers, as well as a fab looking vest.

Saturday also saw a huge contingent of Harriers, juniors and seniors, travel to Newark for the 3rd round of the County Development League this season. With every type of track and field event on offer, we saw Harriers taking on nearly every event, with some brilliant performances. Full results will be available at www.nottsaaa.org in due course. It was great to see younger and older athletes competing together in everything from throws to steeplechase, and a special shout out to Adam Jonczyk, who had a go at just about every event, Matan Duveen for trying throws for the first time, and all of our younger athletes who put in stand out performances across track and field.

Also on Saturday, Jim Staveley probably covered more miles than the rest of the club combined did on Saturday, when he completed the 100km Race to the Stones. On a very hot day, and brilliantly supported by wife Sally, who crewed to perfection, Jim took on the race which goes from Oxfordshire to Wiltshire, via Berkshire. Despite an injury scare the week before, Jim was able to complete the event in 17 hrs 39 minutes, a great time for this distance!

And finally, none of the events can go ahead without volunteers, and as well as having Harriers supporting CDL by officiating and organising, Mark Hazlehurst was field judging at English Schools over the weekend in very hot conditions. Mark will also be volunteering at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and European Champs in Birmingham in the next few weeks and has a few spare single tickets if members would like one. please contact Mark directly.

And just making the newsletter, on Monday evening we had a gang of Harriers take on Trunce fell race, with two young athletes doing the junior race, including Ted Spencer, doing it for the first time. Big thanks to Oakley Allsop, who stayed with Ted the entire time as support, being a rather expereinced Truncer himself now! And well done to the older athletes Chris Lawrence, Cath Mhembre, Adam Turner, Sharon James and Neil Allsop too.

All in all another great week of action!
