Two trips to Ulley Reservoir for the senior Harriers last week as we start with a mid-week KMR race at Ulley Reservoir. Just shy of 5 undulating miles as runners headed up and out of Whiston and then south on trails over towards the reservoir before a small loop around the north side and then back to Whiston.

It was another KMR series win for Dom Fielding as he put nearly a minute in to 2nd to take the win whilst Matt Daly (4th) and Henry Brady (8th) put three Harriers in the top-10! Keve Saville was next in, followed by Dave Bulmer, Sam Thorneloe, Sharon James and Sally Bulmer to round out a pleasant evening for the Harriers.

On to Saturday and we were back to Ulley Reservoir but this time approaching from the South as our next GP race took place with the Three Lakes Classic. Another new course iteration saw the race keep its 14 mile but this time following a CW loop of Rother Valley, runners headed out on to the trails over to Ulley, around Waverley Lakes and back but this year in a first, electing for a finishing climb as runners were sent up Waleswood Road for a challenging finish before a steep drop down Pithouse to back in to Rother Valley, this year omitting a second RV lake loop.

A rewarding week of running saw Dom take his 2nd win 3 days in what was successful day for the Harriers. Paul Parry finished 9th overall to take the MV50 prize whilst Hannah Miller took 2nd place for the ladies. Chris Johnson and Henry Brady were next in in 19/20 before a string of Harriers ladies came in as Julie Holloway, Nat Cunningham, Jo Campbell, Cathy Mhembere and Lucy Binch finished 64th, 68th, 76th, 84th and 111th. Rounding out the Harriers team Adrian Thompson finished 120th and Andrew Creegan in 130th pos

We finish this weeks report not with a run but making the good stuff happen. Competiting at the highest levels can often mean needing to hit a qualifying standard just to be allowed entry and sometimes just finding and getting to specific events can be a challenge for athletes, especially those in some Track and Field competitions. In the Harriers we are lucky enough to have sevel qualified officials that are required to make these events happen and few are more experienced than Mark Hazlehurst. The previous weekend Mark received a request from olympic hopeful Holly Bradshaw seeking help to officiate in a specially organised Pole Vault compeition to allow her to achieve the qualifying height for the soon-upcoming GB trials. Some quick planning and mobilisation saw Mark lead small competition on Wednesday at Loughborough where Holly cleared the 4.60 m clearance requirement which will hopefully be sufficient to ensure selection for her 4th consecutive Olympics. Mark will continue his officiating at the GB trials at Manchester next weekend.
