In international flair to this weeks run report as one Harrier took on a sunny & scenic half marathon in Croatia but first we are just down the road at Newark for the first county Development league which gives people the opportunity to try or practice the full T&F roster.
6 young athletes put in excellent individual and team performances, covering 15 events and obtaining 8 pb’s between them, which is an excellent start to the season, especially considering the awful weather conditions on the day. A notable performance was Alicia Wells in the Javelin. Her first round throw was just over 24m and she improved by approximately one metre, in each of the 6 rounds, to finish with a substantial PB of 29.58m.
All of these athletes can look forward to a very rewarding outdoor season.

Much further afield and in much more pleasing conditions Tanja Maric took part in the Dubrovnik Half Marathon. A roughly out and back from the Croatian Capital, the run followed a very scenic route along the coastal roads as the course rolled through an undulating course with a particular spike just over a mile from the end! An excellent run by Tanja saw her run 2:02 depsite the scenic but challenging conditions!
