With only seven weeks to go to the London Marathon members of the Worksop Harriers preparations are well under way.
Sleaford Half Marathon
As a previous winner of the Sleaford half marathon Tracey West showed she is in the best form of her life by once again coming home the first lady (33rd overall) in a personal best time of 1:27:25. This was an excellent performance as the race contained a very muddy 3mile ‘off road’ section, which added considerably to her time.
For the fifth consecutive year Tracey has qualified to start the London Marathon with the elite ladies who go off 45 minutes before the masses, when she will be hoping for another personal best time.
There were 415 finishers in the race.
Stamford 30km
Nigel Russell (2:06:33, 51st) and Andrew Hooley (2:16:39, 109th) chose the Challenging Stamford 30km race to see how their training for the London Marathon was progressing. Where they both did well on the hilly course, which takes in parts of the four counties of South Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire & Rutland. 560 runners took part.
Members of the Harriers competing in the Norton 9 this Sunday (4th March) & the Doncaster Half Marathon on the following weekend (11th March).
