SOUTHWELL 10k & BOLSOVER 10k - Race Report

SOUTHWELL 10km
 

A record field of over 700 runners turned out for the Nott’s County 10km Championships at Southwell on New Years Eve. John Hewitt (36:17, 28th) added the county over 50’s title to the half marathon championship he had previously won at Worksop in October.

The Harriers had two other podium finishers with Luke Cragg (33:09, 7th) & Tracey West (82nd, 40:05) both collecting county bronze medals.

The rest of the Harriers finished as follows:

John Harrison (38:38, 68th),

Dave Wright (40:58, 108th),

Richard Shuker (40:58, 116th),

Graeme Murray (44:13, 198th),

Nicola Vaughan (46:56 PB, 225th).


BOLSOVER 10k

In form Harriers John Hewitt (35:53, 20th) also picked up the first over 50’s prize in the Bolsover 10k, where he led the team home.

120 runners, many in fancy dress, turned out for the Gerald Story Memorial Fun Run at Worksop College on New Years Eve. The race run in add of Cancer Research, is sponsored by The Worksop Guardian and raised over £1,000 for the charity.
