For the first time in many years the Worksop Harriers had junior teams running in the Midland Cross-Country Championships which were held over a challenging course at Wollerton Park, Nottingham.
All the athletes acquitted themselves well with the under 13 boys finishing in a very respectable 9th place. While a young under 13 girls team, with two of the girls just moving up to this age group & distance finished 18th in their race.
James Lonsdale was the Harriers star performer finishing 18th, around a minute behind the winner in the under 13 boys race.
Coach Michele Harrop said:
“It’s not often a Midland Championships is this local so it was an excellent opportunity for them to gain the experience of running in a high quality competition”
