Race Day Information
PLEASE NOTE : race numbers will not be sent out in the post this year, they should be collected on race day. Collection desk will be open from 08:30 am
Directions: M1 from the North Exit at Junction 31. Left at roundabout sign posted A57 Worksop. Straight on through 2 sets of traffic lights. At roundabout go straight on onto Gateford Road, eventually arriving at a set of traffic lights at Victoria Square (see attachment 2 – Map of Car Park and Start / Finish Area). Take 3rd exit (straight on) to another set of lights where you need to turn left onto Watson Road. Straight on at set of traffic lights until you reach a mini roundabout; turn right on to Potter Street. Follow road round to left, through lights and turn right onto Westgate.
M1 from the South Exit at Junction 30,following the A619 signs for Worksop. On the A619 you pass through Barlborough, approximately 5 miles further on you join the A60, and 3/4 mile later you reach a roundabout on the outskirts of Worksop. Go straight on into Worksop, down Newcastle Avenue (A60).
Parking: <click here for map of car parks> Available throughout Worksop Town Centre. Car Parks on Newgate Street are not accessible and will be cordoned off for safety and emergency vehicle access purposes.
Start Times: Half Marathon 10.30 am. Family Fun Run 10.45 am. Both races start from Newgate Street, adjacent Worksop Town Hall and Market Place. Entries on the day will be accepted, subject to reaching our race entry limit of 2500 runners.
Changing Facilities, Toilets & Baggage Area: <click here for map of start/finish area> Male & Female changing, baggage & toilets within the Town Hall. Toilets also available on the market square and in each car park adjacent the start finish area.
Course: <click here for course map> Click on the link above and you will be directed to TheGoodRunGuide website where you can view the course route, hill profile and satalite images of the course. Starts and finishes on Newgate Street, adjacent to the Town Hall. The course then leads out of town into the National Trust’s Clumber Park.
Drinks & Sponge Stations: There will be 3 drinks stations located throughout the course and also at the finish.
Prizes: <click here for prize list> Presentations will take place in the Town Hall, starting at 1pm. A detailed list of categories and prizes will be posted on our website and displayed in prominent places on the day. IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes entering on the day are not eligible for individual or team prizes.
Results: Official timing and results will be brought to you courtesy of the very latest in RFID chip technology from SportSystems. A full set of Results will be posted at www.worksopharriers.co.uk shortly after the event, or by writing your name and address on an envelope at the finish, ensuring to enclosing the postage fee.
Finishers Momento: All finishers of Half Marathon will receive a quality T-shirt. All finishers of Fun Run will receive a commemorative medal Entries for the Half Marathon received before the 11th October will see their names printed on the back of the Finishers T-Shirt. T-Shirts will be distributed from stalls clearly marked with your race number. Half Marathon Sweatshirts will be available for sale at the finish.
Additional Services Available on the Day :
Cake & Refreshments Stall. A selection of home baked goodies ! SweatShop will be retailing quality running gear before and after the event. Therapy @ Hand will be on hand to tend to your pre & post race aches and pains as well as pre race mass warm up session
Safety / Medical Information: (important, please read) Please write emergency contact numbers and name(s), along with any medical conditions on the back of your race number in the space provided St Johns Ambulance will be in attendance providing Medical support at the Start / Finish area and around the course. For your own safety we do not recomend using MP3, Walkman, MP3 Phones whilst running. To ensure your safety please follow instructions from Police and race marshalls.
