The Doncaster Half Marathon was the start of the Worksop Harriers Grand Prix & this along with favourable weather conditions meant there was a good turnout for the club. In form John Hewitt continued his recent exceptional performances and once again finished first in his over 50’s age category (9th overall, 1:17:13). This was the triple county champion’s fastest half marathon for over 20 years showing how well he is running and fantastic longevity!

While the Junior Harriers also got their Grand Prix off to a start with the Doncaster Fun Run, where in a very close finish Emily Appleby (20th, 8:00) led home Aidan Bonser (21st, 8:01).

While the rest of his teammates were busy at Doncaster, Tim Doughty was the clubs only competitor in the Rushcliffe 10km in Nottingham. This was the venue of his first ever race last year and he showed an encouraging improvement finishing in 36:52, 3 minutes faster than in 2006.
