The junior Worksop Harriers got off to a good start in the first meeting of the Notts AAA Mini League Sportshall. Results Under 9’s 1 lap Emma Parker (8 th , 20:1). The junior Harriers got the cross-country season off to a good start in the first race of the Notts AAA Mini League at Kings Park Retford where the wet & muddy conditions made it a real test for the young athletes. The Worksop Harriers enjoyed another successful weekend competing in the Mablethorpe Festival of Running. Now in it’s third year the event continues to improve & attract more runners. John Hewitt (8 th overall, 1:20:02) won the over 50’s category in the half marathon, an excellent performance which also saw beat all the runners in the over 40’s age group as well. ...

Steve Battle, Worksop Harriers ultra runner completed his greatest ever challenge when he finished the 1150km, 18 day Transe Gaule race. The endurance event starts at Roscoff on the English Channel and after averaging over 40miles a day finishes at Gruissan-Plage on the Mediterranean. Kyle Craib & Charlotte Hewitt both won their under 20’s age category in the Notts AAA Summer League. It was an excellent performance by the young Worksop Harriers and both of them at the age of 16 have another 3 years before moving into the senior ranks.
