Crawley 12hour Track Race. While mere mortals find full marathons a challenge, some people are made of sterner stuff. One such person is Steve Battle, Worksop Harriers ultra runner.    In the Crawley 12 Hour Track Race he ran an incredible 71.85 miles to finish 3 rd overall & 1 st in his over 40’s age category in what was only his third ultra distance event. ... read more

With just three weeks left before the London Marathon members of the Worksop Harriers were travelling far and wide to get in their final race preparations. The best performance of the weekend was by Nigel Russell (16 th , 2.14.40) who was well positioned among the 178 runners in the Spenborough 20mile race. The Doncaster Half Marathon was the start of the Worksop Harriers Grand Prix & this along with favourable weather conditions meant there was a good turnout for the club.   In form John Hewitt continued his recent exceptional performances and once again finished first in his over 50’s age category (9 th overall, 1:17:13). Garbsen, Mini League X-C & Norton 9   Harriers Chairman, Peter Fendley visited Worksop’s twin town, Garbsen, in Germany for the clubs annual exchange trip for the 25 th consecutive year. SOUTHWELL 10km   A record field of over 700 runners turned out for the Nott’s County 10km Championships at Southwell on New Years Eve. John Hewitt (36:17, 28 th ) added the county over 50’s title to the half marathon championship he had previously won at Worksop in October. DEWSBURY 10km In form Worksop Harrier John Hewitt (triple over 50's Notts County Champion) recorded his fastest time for a number of years in the Dewsbury 10km.
