Norton 9

The senior's got their Grand Prix off to a good start at the Norton 9 this weekend. The bright sunny day with a gentle wind made for ideal conditions on the undulating 9mile course.
 
The London training is obviously paying off for our marathon runners with our first 5 finishers all building up to the big day in the capitol on 26th April.
 
First home for the club was David Havenhand (89th, 60:15) followed by:
Tracey West (124th, 7th lady, 63:03),
Philip Harrop (125th, 63:07),
Craig Cooper (169th, 66:05),
Peter Fendley (184th, 66:54),
Peter Fendley (211th, 68:18) – Yes that man again! He appears to have finished twice in the hope of double GP points! A steward’s inquiry ensues!!
David Ward (220th, 69:07),
Jimmy Kelly (235th, 70:22),
Adel Bryan (263rd, 71:44),
Sally Bannister (323rd, 75:51),
Helen Eastland (379th, 80:05),
Julie Bonser (380th, 80:05).
There were 510 finishers.
 
Lauren Ward (aged 11) excelled in the 5km Fun Run finishing 3rd girl in 24:30 followed by Sophie Bonser (30:12).
 
The next race in the senior’s Grand Prix is the Retford Half Marathon, at the Retford Rugby Club on 22nd March.
