Club Half Marathon Championships

We held our Half Marathon Championships at the Clowne race last weekend.

Both Steve Battle and Julie Bonser retained the trophies they had won last year.

Unchallenged, Steve had a casual trot round finishing 64^th in 1:29:17.

While the ladies made more of a battle of it with Julie Bonser & Caroline McGinley locked together until around 8miles where Julie’s strength & determination paid off as she eased away to finish 270^th in 1:46:19.

But Caroline didn’t go home empty handed as she took more than 2 minutes of her personal best time finishing 303^rd, 1:49:10.

Other Harriers taking part were:
John Harrison (123^rd, 1:36:22),
Philip Harrop (136^th, 1:37:16),
Steve Rewston (269^th, 1:46:18),
Jimmy Kelly (285^th, 1:47:33),
Donna Blizard (409^th, 1:58:07).
There were 545 finishers.

While in the 3.5mile fun run at Clowne Jack Harrop finished 7^th followed by Lauren Ward (12^th) & Michele Harrop (14^th).
