Sportshall & Trader Fun Run

The junior Worksop Harriers had another solid performance at the second meeting in the Notts AAA Mini League Sportshall competition at the Grove Leisure Centre at Newark.
 
Under 11 girls
Miranda Parks won the under 11 girls Sitting Throw (6.66m) to help the team to 2nd place in their age group. She also competed in the Vertical High Jump (2nd, 33cm) & 1 Lap (15:3).
She was well supported by:
Chloe Hallewell: 1 Lap (3rd, 14:2), 2 Laps (29:1), Vertical Long Jump (1.65m).
Lauren Ward: 2 Laps (3rd, 30:3), Standing Long Jump (3rd, 1.6m) Vertical High Jump (32cm).
Katerina Dycka: 2 Laps (30:9), Vertical High Jump (26cm), Standing Long Jump (1.32m).
Obstacle Relay: Ward, Hallewell, Parks & Dycka (2nd, 1:26.7).
 
Under 11 boys
James Davison won both 1 Lap race  (13:7) & the Vertical High Jump (41cm) to help the under 11boys team to =1st position in their age group & also ran the 2 Lap race (27:7).
He was well supported by the rest of the team, who finished as follows:
James Lonsdale: Sitting Throw (2nd, 6.16m) 1 Lap (15:3), 2 Laps (30:4).
Jack Sanders: Standing Long Jump (3rd, 1.67m), 2 Laps (3rd, 29:1), 1Lap (14:3).
James Ellis: 1 Lap (14:9), 2 Laps (30:1), Vertical High Jump (32cm),
Under/Over Relay: Davison, Sanders, Ellis & Lonsdale (2nd, 1:24.2).
 
Under 13 Girls
Despite not having enough members for a relay team the under 13 girls still performed well to finish 4th in their age category.
Results:
Sarah Angel: 2 Laps (3rd, 28:0), Shot (4th, 5.02m), Vertical High Jump (35cm).
Sophie Bonser: Vertical High Jump (3rd, 38cm), Standing Long Jump (4th, 1.71m), 2 Laps (29:8).
Anna Hall: 4 Laps (4th, 66:9), Vertical High Jump (29cm).
 
Under 13 Boys
Luke Hallewell with two second places in both the 2 Lap race (25:4) & the Standing Long Jump (2.03m) helped the under 13 boys to 3rd place.
He was supported by:
Jack Harrop: Shot (3rd, 5.95m) 4 Laps (58:5), Standing Long Jump (1.85m).
Ben Twible: 4 Laps (4th, 60:3), Vertical High Jump (4th, 39cm), Standing Long Jump (1.68m).
James Fleeman: 2 Laps (28:5), 4 Laps (65:2), Shot 5.17m).
4 X 2 Lap Relay: Hallewell, Twible, Fleeman & Harrop (2nd, 1:49.9).
 
Under 15 Girls
An under strength team meant the under 15 girls were held back, but nonetheless they competed gamely to finish 5th in their competition.
They finished as follows:
April Ward: 4 Laps (4th, 58:6), Vertical High Jump (=3rd, 42cm), Standing Long Jump (4th, 1.86m).
Tanya Barnett: 2 Laps (6th, 28:7), Vertical High Jump (33cm), Shot (5th, 4.46m).
 
Under 15 Boys
Callum Berridge was the Harriers only competitor in the under 15 boys age group. Undaunted he excelled to win both the Vertical High Jump (55cm) & the Shot (9.2m) & added a fine second place in the Standing Long Jump. This meant that as a one-man team he finished in 4th place!
 
When all the points were added up this meant the Worksop Harriers strengthen their hold on 3rd place as a whole club & remained within catching distance of 2nd spot.
 
The 3rd meeting in the league is also at the Grove Leisure Centre, Newark, this Sunday (9th Nov).
 
 
The junior Harriers were also in dominant form in the Trader Fun Run with five members in the first seven runners home.
 
12-year-old Jack Harrop (17:45) led the Harriers home over the testing 2.5mile course to finish in an excellent 2nd place.
