The provisional dates & venues for the 2009 Summer League are as follows:
Race 1 Epperstone - 15th April
Race 2 Holme Pierrepont - 13th May
Race 3 Erewash - 10th June
Race 4 Worksop College - 8th July
Race 5 Teversal Grange - 12th August
(I don’t expect these to change so you can all book your holidays now!))
The first race is a week earlier than last year, so it falls 10 days before the London Marathon. As last year all the races are on Wednesdays & all start at 7:15pm.
There is an additional rule banning the carrying/using of earphones/personal stereos for safety reasons. As last years some runners were ignoring instructions not to use them, next year wearing them will result in a 100pts being added to every team of that runners club. Obviously none of our lot will be wearing them! Right!
The venues for next years County Championships are:
Cross-Country - Berry Hill, Mansfield, Sat 10th January - Any Harriers wanting to enter please contact John Harrison before the end of November. 10mile – Notts 10, Friday 5th June
10km – Notfast (Newark Rugby Club)
Half Marathon – Newark, Sunday 9th August
Marathon - Robin Hood
Grand Prix ‘Points Bandits’ will already know that they get a 10-point bonus for competing in County Championship races. You also get bonus points for running the Summer League races & also marshalling the Worksop Half Marathon.
