The junior Worksop Harriers had their best ever season in the Notts AAA Mini League track & field competition, with their under 11 girls winning their age category and the club as a whole claiming third place in every meeting – a remarkable achievement bearing in mind the total lack of facilities available.
Harriers Chairman, Peter Fendley said:
“ For our under 11 girls to finish the best team in the county shows how much potential there is in Worksop’s youngsters. It also reflects all the time & commitment put in by our coaches & athletes. Every other team in the league has a running tack, so for us to do so well, with just a grass field, is really remarkable and outlines the quality and dedication of our Coaching Team, and the help given by Parents in assisting with transport to the various venues.”
The final meeting in the league was at Berry Hill, Mansfield, where the team pulled out all the stops to record 6 personal bests & achieve 13 Mini League standards.
