Steve Battles returned from his travels to Ceska Trebova in the Czech Republic where represented Great Britain in the European Railways Cross-Country Championship. On a very hilly 9km 3 lap course, based on a ski resort, he finished 73rd in 38:59, third counter in the British team of 6 to help them to finish 14th. He said: “The only flat bit was the last 200meters, the rest was either up a very steep hill or down one. After the first lap you knew what was coming – but you’d rather not have known! It was more like a fell race really, but it was great experience!”
