Emily Appleby & Jodie Solaiman represented Nottinghamshire in the UK Sports Hall final at the NEC, Birmingham last weekend. An excellent performance saw Emily collect a silver medal in the speed bounce. The two Worksop Harriers, along with former teammate Codie Marsh, helped the Notts team to an encouraging 5th place against the best teams in Britain.Juniors Coach, Michele Harrop said:
“The girls gained selection for the County Team after their excellent performances for the Harriers. It’s a great reward for all their effort & commitment & gives all our younger athletes something to aspire to”

Gavin Welsh excelled to finish 169th in 2:39:22 to lead the Harriers home. While Danny Scott (1078th, 2:59:44), Craig Argyle (1591st, 3:07:21) & Mike New (1827th, 3:09:58) all put in very good performances to finish towards the front of field. Sharon Farrow (4399th, 4:32:30) & Dino Amendola (20,765th, 5:15:18) also took part.

Closer to home & over a somewhat shorter distance the Harriers were also represented in the Mansfield 5km, where Steve Battle (17th, 18:10) led them home. He was followed by John Hewitt (28th, 18:55) & John Harrison (63rd, 20:45). While Charlotte Hewitt (101st, 23:24) aged 16, showed continued improvement & now looks forward to joining the Harriers senior ranks in the Notts Summer League, which commences next Wednesday (23rd) at Epperstone. Michele Harrop (113th, 25:00) also ran.
