Big-hearted Junior Worksop Harriers showed that not only are they fine athletes, but also prepared to help out those less fortunate than themselves.
At the Dinnington Comprehensive ‘Sport Relief’ the youngsters showed that the appalling lack of facilities in Worksop, due to the school rebuilds, cannot hold them back & claimed a clean sweep of the first five home. The cold, wet & windy conditions could not dampen the spirits of the runners who all helped raise funds for very needy causes both here in England and abroad.
With a fine run, showing commendable progress, Jack Harrop was first home over the 1mile course. He led home: Emily Appleby (2nd), Stacie Leather (3rd), Callum Dalton (4th), Luke Hallewell (5th). A strong turnout for the juniors, boding well for the up coming Track & Field season, meant the green & black of the Harriers were prominently displayed with: Chloe, Jackie & Rob Hallewell, Lauren & April Ward, James Ellis, Richard, Lucy & Michele Harrop all contributing to very worthwhile event.
