The Grand Prix got underway at the very windy Norton 9 last weekend. After running into a headwind for the first 5miles at least meant the wind was predominantly behind for the hillier second half. Richard Sims (60:47, 72nd) led the Harriers home, followed by: Philip Harrop (61:28 PB, 82nd), Terry Millington (62:28 PB, 94th), John Harrison (68:15, 170th), Jimmy Kelly (73:04, 239th). While Caroline McGinley (73:27, 249th) led the ladies team home, followed by: Julie Bonser (73:27 PB, 250th), Helen Eastland (75:34, 279th), Joanne Smith (75:40 PB, 279th), Tracey Mellish (75:42, 280th). There were 429 runners. A fine run by Danny Scott (1:24:48, 21st) saw him finish 2nd in his over 50’s age category at the Sleaford Half Marathon. Dino Amendola (2:00:36, 233rd) also ran. There were 304 finishers. The Next race in the Harriers Grand Prix is the Ranby 10mile on 6th April.
