To mark the end of another successful year the Harriers held their annual Presentation Evening at the Worksop Cricket Club last Friday. The evening was well attended, with everyone eager to find out how they had done in the Club Grand Prix. The Junior Harriers Grand Prix winners where:
Girls Chloe Winn – Under 9. Sophie Bonser – Under 11. Emily Appleby – U13. Rosie Eccles - U15.
Boys Rafi Soliman – Under 9. Daniel Appleby – U 11. Jack Harrop – Under 13. Callum Berridge – Under 15. With Jack Harrop being the Overall Winner. While Aidan Boners & Codie Marsh received trophies for the first Harriers boy & girl home in the Trader Fun Run.
The Senior Grand Prix winners where:
Ladies: Rachel West – Under 20. Sally Bannister – Senior. Julie Bonser – Over 35. Tracey West – Over 40. Michele Layden – Over 45 With Tracey West winning the overall trophy
Men: Andy Hooley – Senior. Steve Battle – Over 40. Dave Havenhand – Over 45 John Hewitt – Over 50. Dennis Learad – Over 55. John Proffitt – Over 60 Maurice Jones – Over 70 With John Hewitt retaining the overall trophy for the second year running. Steve Battle was the winner of both the ‘Gerald Story Memorial Trophy’ & the men’s Half Marathon Championship. While Julie Bonser was the ladies Half Marathon Champion.
Rachel West was presented with her Gold Medal from the recent County Cross-County Championship to go along with the County Gold medal she won in the Notts AAA Summer League.
A special family award was made to Helen Eastland, Dave, April & Lauren Ward for their contribution to & support of the club in the past year.
For the first time ‘Club Standards’ were awarded, with the following members receiving their medals: Nicola Vaughan - Sliver 10km & Half Marathon. Julie Bonser - Bronze 10km, 10mile & Half Marathon. Michele Harrop - Bronze 10km. Tracy Moore - Bronze 10km. Nigel Dawber – Gold Marathon, Silver 10km Peter Fendley – Silver Marathon & Half Marathon Philip Harrop – Bronze 10km. Due to the cancellation of the Doncaster Half Marathon due to road works the first race in the senior Harriers Grand Prix this year will be the Norton 9 on 2nd March.
